Unable to enter keyboard shortcut with ctrl combination

Keyboard Shortcut pluggin ver 1.0.5.0
platform: 3.14.2-1-ARCH
Any attempt to enter a ctrl+[key] as a shortcut will fail.
Control key appears to be detected on a "Key Up" event.
Other keypresses in combintation with control are not detected.
