Space bar doesn't work

running kubuntu 11.10 - 64
Editor: space bar behaves like ctrl+space (no space but complete code)
ctrl+alt+space makes a space but not very convenient...

After further investigations, I found that it was a xorg configuration issue. But since C:B was the only victim, I figured out that it was a C:B issue.

2 solutions (on kubuntu)
1/ through console:
setxkbmap -option nsbp=none
2/ through GUI :
system settings -> input devices -> keyboard -> advanced -> "using space key to input non breakable space character" -> select "usual space at any level"
