recent projects - menu text item not removed

I tried to open a recent project file using the "File-Recent Projects" menu item. I forgot I had previously deleted that project from the disk. I received a dialog asking if I wanted to remove the entry from the "recent projects" list as it was non-existent. I confirmed removal should go ahead. The item was not removed from the list. Clicking on the item again, the project described by the next item down was opened.
