Reuse existing proxy information?

It would be nice if the "network proxy" section of Code::Works would be able to reuse existing proxy information already configured in the OS: Pidgin (nee GAIM) does that, for instance, and under Linux, offers a picklist of "Use GNOME Proxy Settings" and "Use environmental settings" (in addition to hard-config'd HTTP and others). Under Windows, that becomes "Use Global proxy settings", which end up being the proxy settings configured in the Win Internet Options (that is, IE config). For roaming machines, it tends to be painful to have to manually reconfig a whole bunch of programs when changing network environment, while centrally changing a single "Network Proxy" spot that all programs use is easy and acceptable.
