splash window looks dorky on Mac OS X
Seems that alpha channel windows aren't fully supported on wxMac, so the splash page doesn't look all that cool. Suggest to default it to "off" ?

Looks something like this, including black border and "offset":

Will use single-color alpha, that will be good enough until wx 2.8.
