opening workspace takes a long time due to SpellChecker?
I downloaded and installed svn build rev 7500 (2011-10-17 11:02:14) gcc 4.4.3 Linux/unicode - 64 bit. Although I was asked to configure "SpellChecker" when I started codeblocks I did not. However, in the lower left corner a swiss flag is shown and in $HOME/.codeblocks the empty file de_CH_personaldictionary.dic appeared. When I now try to open a workspace I have to wait up to 30 minutes until the workspace finally opened. With a previous version of codeblocks without SpellChecker I had to wait only a few seconds.

Have you tried to disable the SpellChecker plugin and try loading your workspace again?
I'm using unconfigured SpellChecker and I see no loading speed problems.
Also try a newer version of C::B, there was a slow down, that should be fixed in HEAD.
Any progress on this one?
