Cannot open source code in F10

Build Oct 31, 2008 - 05:07:23 - wx2.8.9 (Linux, Unicode)

Whenever I create a project, the try to open the main.c (or anything) with the internal editor, I get a pop-up asking for codepage? ( I think, it comes and goes faster that my old eyes can see) then the program dies.

I'd love to help chase this down, but I'm new to LINUX (just wanted to get away from BILL) so don't know where to start. Let me know how I can be of assistance in this. I'd like to use CB, I started using it on the windoze side of this maching and i like it.
