"Build method" combobox disabled in compiler settings

I'm using code::blocks 8.02 on ubuntu gutsy amd64.

I want to compile a project using my custom makefile.

I followed the FAQ here:

It states:

a) In "Compiler Settings", under the tab "Other", there's a setting called "Build Method". Choose "Work with makefiles".

But the "Build Method" combo-box is disabled!
